My mother, Mrs. Ivy Sheila Mann moved to Dehradun in the year 1941, as my father Mr. E.N.G. Mann got transferred as the Major of the prisoners in the war camp in Clement Town.

About IVY Memorial Education Society

Exists to support Minorities, Schedule Caste /Tribes & OBC & the disabled children throughout PREMNAGAR & nearby village. We are the first inclusive education school in Uttarakhand aims to improve the quality of life for children by helping them develop their own programs and building their capacity to ensure the sustainability of these programs. We are striving to ensure that there are needs based and appropriate services available throughout the area to enable the children to gain more control over their own lives. We also understand that the special children create specific difficulties particularly in communication, mobility and access to information.

It gives me great pleasure to introduce ourselves as the first integrated school in Uttarakhand. IVY Memorial high school in Prem nagar is an integrated school that teaches normal and children with special needs together. The school got its recognition for National Institute of open school (NIOS). on 24th September 2002. We were given permission for state board (CBSE) High School on 27th May 2006. The school is situated in the heart of Prem nagar, which caters for both normal & children with special needs. "There are so many hills to climb upwards.I often am longing for rest. But he who appoints me my pathway knows just what is needed and best".

I feel a sense of great pride and a certain fulfillment when I see how the School has grown and attained an identity of its own Academics of course as is the tradition has always been of the utmost important yet co-curricular activities and programs that sharpen the mind and mould the personality have never logged behind. The students are the reflection of the School and if my student shines The IVY too Shines. I congratulate the Principal and her staff for their Hard Work.

Barriers

These are private and public buildings, schools, college, offices ,factories, shops, transport and communication system. The establishments do not provide any facilities for the disabled , thereby excluding them from the society
